David Bashton
graduated in Graphic design from Sunderland College of Art in the
1960's. During which he was awarded a bursary from the Royal Society of
Arts which enabled him to work in Italy for a time awakening interests
in many other art forms. After leaving college he worked as a
Designer in Advertising and Publicity. Subsequent experience in glass
since 1980 has included numerous Commercial designs,
Ecclesiastical conservation / restoration and many new commissions.
David has achieved national acclaim and his work has featured in
magazines such as, Glass Age, The Financial Times and The Magazine of
the British Society of Master Glass-Painters. More recently he has developed an interest in abstract forms, inspired by intense light and colour from nature at its elements, both the powerful impressions of the sea and delicate reactions of light are captured in his work.
